NB: new segment in which i will post completely useless information about myself as it occurs to me.
+number one. I have a singular white hair that randomly grows in amongst my brown ones. No matter how many times my family pulls it out, it always grows back.

Charlie Wilsons War Review
+about. A drama based on a Texas congressman Charlie Wilson's covert dealings in Afghanistan, where his efforts to assist rebels in their war with the Soviets have some unforeseen and long-reaching effects. trailer//imdb//official
+my opinion. I heard this movie was pretty funny, so even though it didn't look appealing to me I figured I'd head along to it anyway. I'm rather ignorant when it comes to American politics and American history, so the majority of this film didn't make any sense to me. It wasn't as humorous as I expected, and there was a lot more talking and negotiation about things than actually doing anything about it. While it brought up some interesting points, I think a lot of it was based on a topic that just does not interest me.
+recommendation. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys politics, history etc. I also think its more of a guys film than anything.
+quote of the movie. I bugged the scotch bottle -- Gust. Actually, I really enjoyed that whole scene.
27 Dresses Review
+about. After serving as a bridesmaid 27 times, a young woman wrestles with the idea of standing by her sister's side as her sibling marries the man she's secretly in love with. trailer//imdb//official
+my opinion. This was a pretty sweet romantic comedy with a fantastic script and cast. Completely predictable, but I think that's now a requirement with these types of films xD I completely fell in love with James Marsden in this film, and even though I'd already seen him in Enchanted and Hairspray, he was outstanding in this one!
+recommendation. If you like romantic comedy's, I would definitely recommend this one. But I'm not too sure if many guys will get into it.
+quote of the movie. I feel like I just found out my favorite love song was written about a sandwich -- Jane
The Bucket List Review
+about. Two terminally ill men escape from a cancer ward and head off on a road trip with a wish list of to-dos before they die. trailer//imdb//official
+my opinion. This movie was completely different to what I expected it to be, but it was still really enjoyable. Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman were both fantastic, and I expected nothing less from them. It was a little less funny than I expected, and it spent more time on them in the hospital and less on them completing the actual bucket list tasks than I expected. It was a heartwarming tale though, and I'll even admit that I started bawling when he //SPOILER ALERT// crossed off kissing the world's most beautiful girl after meeting his granddaughter //END SPOILER ALERT//. The whole film brought up some very interesting topics, and I especially loved the irony in the fact that Morgan Freeman's character had a firm faith in God (after playing The Almighty One in Bruce & Evan Almighty).
+recommendation. A good film to take your parents or grandparents to, I'm thinking.
+quote of the film. Edward Cole: You're shitting me. Carter Chambers: No, the cats beat me to it!
Juno Review
+about. Faced with an unplanned pregnancy, an offbeat young woman makes an unusual decision regarding her unborn child. trailer//imdb//official
+my opinion. This is a quirky but very sweet about a young girl finding her way. It was really well done and managed to be humorous but still deal with the subject in a respectful way. By far one of the most entertaining films I've seen this year.
+recommendation. I think there is a little bit of something for everyone in this film, and it's really worth watching.
+quote of the film. There's just so many brilliant lines in this, but I'm going to say have to say that "Fuckity ow!" (as said by Juno) takes the cake as the best swearword ever.

Fool's Gold Review
NB: time for a new format to my movie reviews, methinks. Something short and sweeter...
+my opinion. A bit disappointing, actually, as I was really looking forward to seeing McConaughey and Hudson oncreen together again. It felt a little like the movie started halfway through the story. There just felt like there was something missing the whole way through. One thing I wished they had expanded on in particular was the relationship between Ben and Gemma (because she totally had a crush on him, but never acted on it?). It was pretty funny, but not completely original. However, the character Gemma was hilariously done. Overall it was just very average from every side - the comedy, the action, the adventure just wasn't that great.
+recommendation. Go to see this if you've got a rainy day and nothing better to do, but don't go out of your way.
+quote of the film. "You unconsciously named your boat after me!" -- Gemma
Death at a Funeral
About
Ewen Bremner, Peter Dinklage, Matthew Macfadyen, Kris Marshall, Alan Tudyk
Chaos ensues when a man tries to expose a dark secret regarding a recently deceased patriarch of a dysfunctional British family.
The Good?
I love British humor, and this film is that at its best. I haven't laughed so hard in a long time! The film progressed perfectly too, it just seemed to go at a perfect pace despite the fact that it was a 2 hour film covering only a funeral.
I went to see this film twice, and it was just as funny the second time as the first, if not funnier (as I knew what was coming up).
The Bad?
Absolutely nothing!
The Ugly?
I know the guy who played the brother was meant to be a celebrity, but man was he ugly!
Overall
This has got to be the funniest film I have seen in a long time! Brilliantly done!

I Am Legend Review
About
Will Smith
Years after a plague kills most of humanity and transforms the rest into monsters, the sole survivor in New York City struggles valiantly to find a cure.
The Good?
A pretty interesting idea, and a cool plotline, even if the ending was a little predictable. I cried when the dog died, so I guess I can't complain about it being too terrible.
Will Smith was fantastic, as usual.
The Bad?
The entire film just didn't blow me away, I can't really describe it, there just seemed to be something missing. A few things were unexplained, and there didn't seem to be a consistency with what the zombies were capable of.
I heard a rumor that there was a possible alternate ending, where one of the zombies was in "love" with the one Will Smith's character had captured. They then released said zombie, Will Smith's character survived, and saved mankind with the cure. I think I would have liked this ending a little better.
The Ugly?
Nothing really...
Overall
An okay film in its own right, but fairly average for an end-of-the-world type movie. If that makes any sense.

Cloverfield Review
About
Michael Stahl-David, T. J. Miller, Jessica Lucas, Odette Yustman, Lizzy Caplan, Mike Vogel
Revolves around a monster attack in New York as told from the point of view of a small group of people.
The Good?
This movie literally had me hanging on the edge of my seat the whole. The effects were amazing, the storyline was fantastic. The whole concept of it being filmed by hand held camera was just brilliant, they took it to places that I wouldn't even have thought of.
I especially loved how it started off as a bit of a teenage drama, then BAM they're being attacked by a monster.
I didn't follow much of the marketing before the film was released, but I was interested in seeing it, and boy did it meet my expectations and more! I really hope they decide to go through with a sequel - man it would be cool to see it all through the eyes of someone else.
The Bad?
It was a bit scary, but mostly because it was so realistic.
Overall
A fantastic film that deserves all the hype and praise that has followed it.
