Charlie Wilsons War Review

+about. A drama based on a Texas congressman Charlie Wilson's covert dealings in Afghanistan, where his efforts to assist rebels in their war with the Soviets have some unforeseen and long-reaching effects. trailer//imdb//official

+my opinion. I heard this movie was pretty funny, so even though it didn't look appealing to me I figured I'd head along to it anyway. I'm rather ignorant when it comes to American politics and American history, so the majority of this film didn't make any sense to me. It wasn't as humorous as I expected, and there was a lot more talking and negotiation about things than actually doing anything about it. While it brought up some interesting points, I think a lot of it was based on a topic that just does not interest me.

+recommendation. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys politics, history etc. I also think its more of a guys film than anything.

+quote of the movie. I bugged the scotch bottle -- Gust. Actually, I really enjoyed that whole scene.
