Fool's Gold Review

NB: time for a new format to my movie reviews, methinks. Something short and sweeter...

+about. A new clue to the whereabouts of a lost treasure rekindles a married couple's sense of adventure -- and their estranged romance. trailer//imdb//official.

+my opinion. A bit disappointing, actually, as I was really looking forward to seeing McConaughey and Hudson oncreen together again. It felt a little like the movie started halfway through the story. There just felt like there was something missing the whole way through. One thing I wished they had expanded on in particular was the relationship between Ben and Gemma (because she totally had a crush on him, but never acted on it?). It was pretty funny, but not completely original. However, the character Gemma was hilariously done. Overall it was just very average from every side - the comedy, the action, the adventure just wasn't that great.

+recommendation. Go to see this if you've got a rainy day and nothing better to do, but don't go out of your way.

+quote of the film. "You unconsciously named your boat after me!" -- Gemma
