Ugh

I am only posting this because I told myself I would post something everyday but I am far too angry to post anything that makes any sense, nor do I have anything else prepared to post.

I just had the worst day in the history of bad days, and now I am in a very bad mood. Probably normal for most people, but bad moods to this extreme is rather unusual for me.

And now that I have wasted your time with a post that is literally about nothing, I only have one thing left to say.

ARGH!!!

Microsoft VS Zone Alarm

So today I had the pleasure of spending a few hours trying to fix the Internet on one of our computers. I was thinking that it was something to do with my recent decision to switch from Nortons Anti-Virus to AVG. However, it turns out that Microsoft released a patch for Windows XP a few days ago, which was somehow causing Zone Alarm to block all attempts at connecting to the Internet. Thought I would share my troubles with you all, as I'm sure a lot of people are experiencing this problem.

Current Solutions:
*Set your Zone Alarm Internet firewall to Medium, as opposed to High.
*Update to newest version of Zone Alarm
*Uninstall the latest Microsoft patch.

The Secret Life of the American Teenager 102 "You Are My Everything" Review

+episode summary. Grace struggles to decide whether she should forgive Jack, and Ricky and Adrian try to figure out their relationship. Meanwhile, Amy experiences morning sickness, and Ben hears a rumor about her

+commentary.

Starts off with a great scene in the hallway, linking all three main story lines together.

Aww, Ben is so cute, patting her shoulder xD

"Never happened" - seriously!? And do you think no-ones gonna notice in nine months if you just ignore the problem.

Strange, Ricky's getting jealous over his one night stand... But I guess it's got something to do with his history with his Dad.

Oh, thank god they are ditching the old plan from last week, lol. Why is Ricky pushing her - surely he's got another queue of girls lined up... Or does he actually feel something for Amy...? I'd really like to know more about the circumstances that the slept together.

Meh, Grace is annoying. She's a fool for even considering to take him back. I mean, he was with the school slut, what does she think they got up to...?

Aww, Ricky's a foster kid. So what happened to his mother?

Ah, Henry and Alice - the voices of reason. I'm not too sure how I feel about Ben already being in love with Amy. It's just too soon! Lol at the bet though. Aww, Ben's so adorably awkward! That message was very sweet.

Shailene's acting with the stuttering was perfect! Man her sister bugs me though.

Jack... there's just something off about him... Smite him =D And I think Grace's parents need to give her a little more credit. Mind you, we know that even the nicest and most innocent of girls can change. And she really shouldn't give him another chance...

Ricky and Adrian are both interesting characters, and hopefully we'll get to see more and more layers to them over time.

Awww, Ben. I love Amy's line "Ahh..." *sits down* "We had one date." I'm glad they both realize it's crazy that they're already in love.

Okay, I love Ben. Great scene with the counselor.

Lol, Amy's friends are such bad liars.

I can't believe their attitudes towards sex are so casual - this is a bunch of 15 and 16 year olds!

Grrr, Grace is way too naive! And Jack is waaay too pushy. Give her some time, boy!

Awww, Ben and Amy make almost no sense - but they're just too darn cute!

+my overall thoughts. An okay episode, the truth is starting to get it, and I don't think it's gonna be long before everyone finds out she's pregnant. Amy and Ben are a very sweet, if a little unconventional couple.

Prince Caspian Review

+about. The Pevensie siblings return to Narnia, where they are enlisted to once again help ward off an evil king and restore the rightful heir to the land's throne, Prince Caspian. official//trailer

+my opinion. I LOVED this film! They took some pretty big risks (for example the Caspian/Susan romance and adding in more humour), but it really paid off. It's a long movie but they keep it interesting by throwing in the odd joke or extra plot twist here and there. I also loved the character development in this film, from memory I think they took it a little bit further than in the books, but it really gave each of the stars a chance to shine. And I didn't think I'd like Prince Caspian much (from what was in the trailers) but he was awesome!. The final battle scene between Miraz and Peter was amazingly intense, I haven't seen a battle scene in a kids film that good in awhile. Oh, and I really loved Edmund in this film - he matured so much from being the rebel in the first film.

+qotf. Miraz: Tell me, Prince Edmund...
Edmund: King.
Miraz: I beg your Pardon.
Edmund: It's King Edmund, actually. Just King though. Peter's the High King.
[awkward pause]
Edmund: I know, it's confusing.

Kung Fu Panda Review

+about. Po the Panda is the laziest animals in all of the Valley of Peace, but unwittingly becomes the chosen one when enemies threaten their way of life. official//trailer

+my opinion. This movie was perfect! The right combination of humour, seriousness and all out sillyness. Kids and adults will both love it. The whole film is absolutely adorable, and keeps you hooked the whole way through.

The Hulk Review

+about. Fugitive Dr. Bruce Banner must utilize the genetic accident that transforms him into a giant, rampaging hulk to stop a former soldier that purposely becomes an even more dangerous version. official//trailer

+my opinion. Awesome movie - the acting, editing and effects were all fantastic, and the fight scenes kept me on the edge of my seat. Only complaint was that maybe there were too many fight scenes - they dragged on a bit and the movie could have done with more plot, less fight (like in Ironman). But guys will like it. Pretty awesome overall - much better than the 2003 version. And I loved the crossover with Ironman - I can't wait for The Avengers!

+qotf.
Betty: The subway is probably quickest.
Bruce: Me in a metal tube, deep underground with hundreds of people in the most aggressive city in the world?
Betty: Right. Let's get a cab.

Sex and the City Review

+about. A New York writer on sex and love is finally getting married to her Mr. Big. But her three best girlfriends must console her after one of them inadvertently leads Mr. Big to jilt her. official//trailer

+my opinion. I tried to like this film, I really did. But I never watched the series and I mostly just felt lost while watching. It didn't flow like your typical movie, either, it just felt like a full season of a tv show pushed into a two and a half hour film. I'm sure most woman would enjoy it, but it just wasn't my cup of tea.

21

+about. "21" is the fact-based story about six MIT students who were trained to become experts in card counting and subsequently took Vegas casinos for millions in winnings. official//trailer

+my opinion. A great plot and was extremely well done. I really loved the editing in this film. I only wish that they had gone more into the techniques that card counters used (just out of interest lol), but I can understand them not wanting to educate millions of viewers on how to cheat casinos. A few things were a bit confusing, but nothing big enough to spoil the movie. Overall, definitely worth the watch.

+qotf.
Ben: Jim... Jimmy got a job at Google?
Micky: Yeah, it's catchy, I know.

The Secret Life of the American Teenager 101 "Falling In Love" Review

+episode summary. After losing her virginity to Ricky Underwood at band camp, Amy Juergens discovers that she's pregnant. As Amy contends with her family life, and struggles to come to terms with her pregnancy, she seeks solace from her friends, Lauren and Madison. Meanwhile, Grace Bowman, the most popular girl at school, promises abstinence to her parents.

+my thoughts. An interesting start, I think. A pretty good episode for a pilot, managed to work in number of storylines without making the episode seemed crowded. I really like the idea for the show, most importantly taking a very Average Joe character and making her pregnant, and I can't wait to see what happens as her secret unravels. I also really liked the new school counselor, and can't wait to see how he handles the school, and what changes he will bring about. Ben and Amy were sweet, falling in love so quickly. The plan to make Ben fall in love with Amy and convince him that it is his baby is a bit far-fetched, but then again they are only fifteen and are way too young to be handling this.

I don't have much to say about the pilot episode as I don't think there is really all that much to say. In future I plan on blogging my thoughts as I watch each episode. Overall, I think the pilot has showed a lot of potential and I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next!

Half-year Resolutions

Since it's officially halfway through the year and I didn't make any New Years Resolutions, I thought I would set myself a few Half-Year Resolutions.

Half-Year Resolutions July 1 2008:
1. Text people back within an hour. I tend to procrastinate often about texting people back.
2. I'm going to take the fanfic100 challenge on LJ and post a new story atleast once a week.
3. Stop biting my goddam lips once and for all.
4. One blog post per day. (!)
5. Eat healthier. I swear half of my meals at the moment consist of takeaways.
